DC Minimates Wave One - Overview

Ary Asylum and DC Direct have joined forces to bring us minimates of our favourite DC Characters!!! In the first wave of 8, we are treated to Classic Superman, Modern Batman, Hal Jordan, OMAC, Star Sapphire, Armored Lex Luthor, and the legendary duo of comedy - Joker and Harley Quinn!!!

If you don't know who Batman and Superman are - you shouldn't be buying these minimates. These two heroes are like the Gods of DC, and without them, we wouldn't have these cute little 2 inchers to collect! Batman is the protector of Gotham City, a crime filled town that will always need him. Superman is the last son of Krypton - or was - until many relatives arrived - and possesses about a hundred different kinds of vision, and mega-super-strength. Hal Jordan is perhaps the most legendary of all Green Lanterns, competing with Kyle Rayner and John Stewart for fan favourite.

Now for the enemies. Joker is Batmans arch enemy, who just wants to make people laugh. Laugh and die actually, which makes him a deadly adversary. He's so bad, he's made Batmans sidekick die, and made one of his partners wheelchair-bound for life. Then there's Jokers 'sidekick', Harley Quinn, who just seems to get on Jokers nerves, carries a giant mallet, and will do anything for her 'Mistah J'. She is also known to team up with Posion Ivy on a regular basis. Lex Luthor is Supermans arch foe, a millionaire, and at one point the president for the united states of america. Then there's Star Sapphire, who slaughtered a Green Lantern with a knife in her home. Ouch. Finally, there's OMAC, who I know nothing about. Sorry, but I don't know everything.

For more information on these cool guys type in www.wikipedia.org onto your browser, and you'll surprised at the results.

Introduction

This is my Minimate blog, which I'm going to try to update once a week or so. Don't know what a minimate is? Think Lego. Then think Lego with 14 points of articulation, and way better! Currently, there are quite a few minimate lines out there, two of which I'm collecting. Marvel and DC. DC is now on it's first wave, which I have ordered, and Marvel is somewhere in its teens, so DC might be a bit easier to follow! Anyway, I'm going to give some links to some great minimate sites...

www.minimatesheadquarters.com

There is more, but you can find other links on the two above sites. On my next entry, I'll discuss DC's first wave of minimates, and later a review when I get the set for myself.
I'll also go through some of the Marvel Minimates, but DC is my top priority.
